HOUSTON -- The St. Louis Cardinals erased a 3-0 deficit in the ninth inning before Miguel Tejada (teh-HAH'-dah) slammed a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to give the Houston Astros a 5-3 victory.
Lance Berkman and Carlo Lee hit back-to-back solo shots in the
seventh to snap a scoreless tie. Houston went ahead 3-0 when J.R.
Towles added a solo blast in the eighth. But Troy Glaus ignited the
Cardinals' rally with an RBI single before scoring on Ryan Ludwick's two-run double with two outs in the top of the ninth.
Jose Valverde blew the save but improved to 2-and-0.
Tejada's blast came off Kyle McClellan, who fell to 0-and-1.
