Tiffany Singleton, Jessica Fisher, Monika May, and Desiree Taylor have been named as Southland Conference women's track and field athletes of the week after finishing third in the 4x400 relay at the Texas Relays April 5.
The quartet ran an NCAA regional qualifying time of 3:38.73. The mark also was a Sam Houston State school record.
Southern California won the event with ha 3:34.39 clocking while
Alabama-Birmingham was runner-up at 3:38.51. Sam Houston State defeated relays from Kansas State, North Texas, Abilene Christian, and Texas Tech.
Singlton is a senior from Harker Heights, Fisher a sophomore from Houston / Worthing, May a freshman from Stafford, and Taylor a junior from Converse Judson.
Next action for the Sam Houston State track and field team will be the
Rice/Texas Southern Triangular meet in Houston this weekend.
