SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Manu Ginobili (MAH'-noo jih-NOH'-blee) hit
the game winning basket with 1.7 seconds left in the second
overtime as the San Antonio Spurs beat Phoenix in the opening game
of their playoff series, 117-115. Just seconds before Ginobili hit
the game winner, Steve Nash of the Suns tied the game with a fall
away, out of bounds baseline jumper with 15 seconds left.
Tim Duncan led the way for the Spurs with 40 points and 15
rebounds. His 3-pointer with 3 seconds left at the end of the first
overtime session forced the second OT period. That was his first
3-pointer of the season.
Amare Stoudemire fouled out in overtime and finished with 33
points for the Suns while Nash had 25 points and 13 assists.
