COLLEGE STATION --- College Station native John Gibson has joined the Texas A&M Athletics Department as Assistant Concessions Manager, A&M Concessions Manager Dave Hrechkosy announced on Friday.
Gibson comes to Texas A&M after a highly-successful three-year stint as the Director of Concessions at the University of North Texas. Gibson oversaw the year-round concessions operations associated with UNT Athletics and non-athletics events. During his time at UNT, overall concessions revenue increased by 35 percent and the profit margin also increased by eight percent.
“John Gibson brings a high level of enthusiasm and a desire to excel to our concessions team,” Hrechkosy said.
Gibson received his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with a business management minor from UNT in 2004. Gibson went on to earn a master’s in management with a concentration in sport management from the University of Denver in 2005.
While at DU, Gibson served an internship with the Gold Crown Field House where he served as the field house manager. Gibson was responsible for organizing various intramural leagues and tournaments, as well as supervising the facility’s concessions and retail staff.
A 2000 graduate of A&M Consolidated High School, Gibson is married to the former Karissa Johnmeyer of El Paso, Texas.
