BRYAN -- Kelseigh Braaton tossed a three hitter and struck out 7 as the 4th ranked Iola Lady Bulldogs handed Thrall a 4-1 loss in the 2nd round of the UIL State softball playoffs at the Viking Softball Complex.
Iola broke up a scorless game in the 5th with a pair of runs. Mollie Martinez's ground ball to 2nd drove in Kimberly Frenandez with the first run of the game. Then Erin Compion slapped a single through the left side of the infield driving home Amber Brown.
Iola added 2 more runs in the 6th and went onto win it 4 to 1. The Lady Bulldogs will face either district rival Normangee or Shiner in the 3rd round of the playoffs next week.
