BRYAN -- After a near miss last year at the region 2 tournament with a 3rd place finish, the A&M Consolidated Lady Tiger golf team won the crown this year by 10 strokes over Plano West and are headed to state for the first time since 1994.
The Consol five-some consist of 4 sophomores and a senior as they look to better the best finish in school history which was a 3rd place finish on the boys side in 1990.
According to Consol girls' golf coach Mike Terral Southlake Carroll is probably the team to beat, but don't count out his Lady Tigers who will be led by Casey Grice who is heading to state as the Region 2 medalist champion.
The 5A tournament will be contested on the Jimmy Clay Municipal Golf Course in Austin. The teams will tee it up in the morning starting at 8.
