IRVING, Texas--FSN Southwest announced Wednesday that it has added Sunday’s (May 18) Texas-Texas A&M State Farm Lone Star Showdown baseball game from College Station for a live regional telecast at 1 p.m. (CDT).
The game will be shown throughout the entire FSN Southwest and FSN Houston regions covering Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and parts of New Mexico, and should be available nationally on both DirecTV and Dish Network.
FSN Southwest will use Texas A&M’s 12th Man Productions broadcast feed, which will include audio from Texas A&M radio announcers Dave South (play-by-play) and Chuck Glenewinkel (analyst).
“We worked closely with Texas A&M, Texas and the Big 12 Conference to get this game televised locally when it wasn’t selected for a national broadcast,” said FSN Southwest Senior Vice President/General Manager Jon Heidtke. “The most viable solution is our arrangement with Texas A&M that allows us to take their in-house feed and show a game that has a lot of interest that otherwise wouldn’t have been televised. This is great for fans of both schools and Big 12 baseball fans across the region.”
The Texas-Texas A&M game will be followed on FSN at 3:30 PM CT by another important Big 12 contest featuring Nebraska at Missouri. FSN Southwest will provide studio updates of the Nebraska-Missouri game if the Texas-Texas A&M game is still in progress.
The opener of the three-game Lone Star Showdown series on Friday, May 16 at 6:00 PM CT will be televised live nationally from Austin on Fox College Sports Central (replayed on FSN Southwest Sunday, May 17 at 2:00 AM CT). Kevin Eschenfelder (play-by-play) and former major league outfielder and Texas standout Keith Moreland (analyst) call the action. Fox College Sports is available nationwide to approximately 52 million digital cable homes. DirecTV also will carry Friday’s game on Channel 669.
