BRYAN -- Longtime Bulldog assistant football coach Roddy McDougald has been offered the head coaching position in Iola.

Roddy said Wednesday evening he was offered the job this morning and wants to think about it for a couple of days before making a decision.

Roddy went to school in Iola in the late 70's and played football, he returned to be an assistant coach under his brother Randy in 1993 where he served as the team's defensive coordinator for 14 years.

The younger McDougald was passed over for the post last spring and didn't coach any sports this school year, instead he was a full time history teacher.
