AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) - Kevin Garnett led the Boston Celtics
to their first win on the road in the playoffs.
He had plenty of help.
Garnett scored 22 points and added 13 rebounds and nine assists
in a 94-80 victory over the Detroit Pistons for a 2-1 lead in the
Eastern Conference finals. The Celtics raced out to an 11-0 lead
and led by as many as 24.
Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce combined for 47 points to
match the rest of the team. Kendrick Perkins, Rajon Rondo and James
Posey each scored 12 for the Celtics.
The NBA's top-seeded team had lost its first six road games in
the playoffs. Richard Hamilton led the Pistons with 26. Star
Detroit guard Chauncey Billups had a tough night, hitting just one
of six shots for six points.
The Pistons will host Game 4 on Monday night.
