College Station- The Texas A&M baseball team is ready to defend its regional title, literally.
Part of the problem during the Aggies' late-season slide was the team's inability to catch the ball and throw it.
But, head coach Rob Childress believes the Ags' win over Missouri in their final game at the Big XII Tourney was a turning point.
Childress said Monday, " I think the thing that we had not been doing an incredibly great job at over the course of the last two weeks was playing great defense and pitching well, but that's something we did Saturday."
The four-team, double-elimination College Station Regional will open with a pair of games this Friday. Houston and DBU will meet at 12:30 p.m., while the Aggies and UIC will face off at 6:30 p.m. Two games will be scheduled on both Saturday and Sunday. If a second championship game is necessary, it will take place Monday evening.
