COLLEGE STATION, Texas—The Texas A&M athletics program moved to 20th in the first spring standings of the U.S. Sports Academy Directors’ Cup which were released today.

“This is excellent news as our spring sport teams are positioned to make some noise,” Texas A&M Director of Athletics Bill Byrne said from Oklahoma City where the Aggie softball team is playing in the Women’s College World Series. “Our goal is always to improve and we would like to have our best year ever. Our teams are not satisfied. They continue to push for championships and continue to put in the necessary work to improve.”

The latest spring standings included results from women’s golf, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s tennis and women’s water polo.

The Aggies received 72.75 points for the women’s golf sixth place finish at the NCAA Championships last week. The men’s and women’s tennis programs each reached the second round of the NCAA Championships and received 50 points each.
