Higgins Earns Coaching Honor

NORMAN, Okla. — Texas A&M men’s golf Coach J.T. Higgins has been named the Eaton Golf Pride South Central Region Coach of the Year by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

The nine regional coaches are also candidates for the Eaton Golf Pride National Coach of the Year, which will be announced after the NCAA Championships this week in West Lafayette, Ind.

The Aggies have advanced to the NCAA finals for the fourth time in the last five years. A&M’s 292.48 team stroke average is the third best in school history. The Aggies have posted the two best rounds in school history this spring.

Higgins also earned region coach of the year honors in 2005 at A&M and in 2001 at New Mexico.
