STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Dusty Coleman hit a two-run home run
and Aaron Shafer pitched a five-hitter as Wichita State took down
top-seeded Oklahoma State 5-to-3 tonight in the Stillwater
Coleman's homer to right field in the fourth inning tied the
game at 2, and Conor Gillaspie put the second-seeded Shockers
(46-15) ahead with his RBI single in the fifth.
Josh Workman added a run-scoring infield single in the fourth,
and Andy Dirks had an RBI single in the fifth to extend Wichita
State's lead. Shafer (11-3) struck out 10 and walked one.
The Cowboys (43-17) scored an unearned run in the seventh on a
passed ball, but it wasn't enough after OSU announced earlier in
the day that left-hander Andrew Oliver was ineligible.
Oliver was 7-and-2 with a team-high 96 strikeouts and a 2.20
OSU will face third-seeded TCU in an elimination game tomorrow.
