OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Megan Gibson threw a five-hitter and Kelsey Spittler squeezed a line drive just inside the right field line in
the ninth inning as Texas A&M beat top-seeded Florida 1-0 today,
sending A&M to the Women's College World Series finals.
A&M was last in the finals during its championship season of
Macie Morrow grounded a two-out single through the right side
off NCAA wins leader Stacey Nelson to set the stage for Spittler's
first career triple, which bounded past Mary Ratliff in the
After back-to-back singles to start the bottom of the ninth,
Gibson got Ratliff to ground into a double play and Megan Bush to
pop out to end the game.
A&M faces Arizona State in the best-of-three championship
