ROUND ROCK, Texas -- Corpus Christi Calallen beat Waxahachie
11-1 to become the Class 4A state champ.
Calallen's Patrick Frasier went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and
Roland Resendez added two RBIs of his own in the win. The game was
over in five innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.
Calallen finished the season with 42 wins and only one loss.
Frasier was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
Waxahachie's sole run came in the second inning on a home run
hit by designated hitter Drew Harrison. Harrison went 2-for-2 in
the game and also doubled as a relief pitcher. Waxahachie finished
the season with 32 wins and nine losses.
