COLLEGE STATION -- Texas A&M junior placekicker Matt Szymanski has decided to transfer for personal reasons Aggie head football coach Mike Sherman announced today.
“Matt came to me asking to transfer for personal reasons and I will grant his request,” Coach Sherman said. “We appreciate the job Matt has done for Texas A&M and we wish him well.”
Szymanski graduated a full year early from A&M Consolidated High School in College Station and enrolled at Texas A&M in the fall of 2006. He lettered in 2006 and 2007 and handled most of the kickoff duties. He was 17-of-30 in field goals during his career and 52-of-53 in PAT.
“I asked Coach Sherman for my release for personal reasons,” Szymanski said. “I have a lot of friends on the team and I wish them and Coach Sherman all the best.”
