COLLEGE STATION -- The Texas A&M men's basketball team will participate in the 4th Annual South Padre Island Invitational in November.
The Aggies will play the first two games at home and the final two rounds on Nov. 28-29 at the South Padre Island Convention Center on South Padre island. Pairings will be announced at a later date.
Joining A&M in the eight-team field will be Illinois, Tulsa, Kent State, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, North Carolina Wilmington, Jackson State and North Carolina Central. Illinois, Tulsa, and Kent State also will play the first two rounds at home.
A&M is coming off a 25-11 slate in its first season under Head Coach Mark Turgeon, the third most wins in school history. Turgeon's Wichita State team lost to Illinois in the championship game of the 2005 South Padre Island Invitational.
