ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Fla. (AP) - The Houston Astros have moved
right-handed pitcher Shawn Chacon from the starting rotation to the the bullpen.
Chacon's 2-3 with a 5.04 earned-run average in 15 starts this
Astros manager Cecil Cooper says he and his staff think Chacon
will be of greater help to the team in the bullpen for now while
other starting options are tried.
Triple-A Round Rock right-hander Runelvys Hernandez could replace Chacon in the rotation.
Chacon is no stranger to shifting roles. Out of his 269 career
appearances, 134 have been starts and 135 have been in relief.
