Bucks Grab Alexander at Number 8

NEW YORK -- Joe Alexander is a Milwaukee Buck after being
taken with the eighth overall pick in tonight's NBA draft.
Alexander was a First Team All-Big East selection last season,
finishing eighth in the conference in scoring and blocks. The West
Virginia forward ended the year averaging 16.9 points and 1.5
blocks while recording 6.4 rebounds a game, earning himself
honorable mention status on the AP All-America team.
The 6-foot-8 Alexander had back-to-back 32-point games last
season, becoming the first Mountaineer in 28 years to score 30
points in two straight games. He set a career high by scoring 34
points in the Big East quarterfinals, and torched Duke for 22
points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in WVU's second-round victory
in the NCAA tournament.
Alexander's shooting touch and inside ability make him a tough
matchup. He shot 40-for-131 from three-point range as a sophomore
and isn't afraid to take the tough shot.
