HAUTACAM -- Leonardo Piepoli of Italy has won the 10th stage of the Tour de France, featuring two punishing climbs in the Pyrenees.
Kim Kirchen of Luxembourg was set to lose the yellow jersey he
had worn for four straight days. It was not immediately clear who
would take it Monday - Cadel Evans of Australia or Frank Schleck of
Most top riders distanced themselves from the main pack in the
97-mile stage from Pau to Hautacam. The climbs of Tourmalet and
Hautacam are so hard they are beyond classification.
Riders have their first of two rest days Tuesday. The three-week
race ends in Paris on July 27.
