KANSAS CITY, MO -- The Texas A&M football team may be undergoing change with Mike Sherman and his staff taking over in Aggieland, but players Travis Schneider, Devon Gregg, and Jordan Pugh are getting the word out that 2008 will be far from a transition season for the Maroon & White.
The trio started their 'smash mouth' football campaign with the Big XII football media that was gathered in Kansas City on Monday.
Schneider, who is the lone returning offensive lineman, said that while the team has a new offensive and defensive scheme to learn, they are turning back the clock.
"It's going to be like it use to be, it's going to be smash mouth. We're going to get after people. It's not going to be any more of this soft stuff," stated Schneider.
Like the A&M offense, the Aggie defense will return 6 starters and senior defensive back Devon Gregg feels like the unit will be more aggressive, with the D-Line setting the tone.
Defensive back Jordan Pugh echoes Gregg's thoughts and says there's a lot of excitement on campus and it's not just in the locker room.
"Every body's excited throughout campus, every body's asking about the season, the coach, it's fun, you're just ready, it's exciting," exclaims Pugh!
Texas A&M kicks off the 2008 season and the Mike Sherman era on August 30th against Arkansas State with a 6 p.m. kick-off at Kyle Field.
