COLLEGE STATION, July 30, 2008 - Alexis Verzal, a toddler recovering
from brain trauma injuries amid mounting medical costs, will be the
beneficiary of the Coach G. Charity Bash to be held in conjunction with
the Aggie Soccer Maroon and White Game Saturday, Aug. 9. The event will include the raffling of numerous Aggie sports-related items and
opportunities to be guest coach at an Aggie football game and go on a
Houston road trip with the Aggie soccer team and sit on the bench with
The Coach G. Charity Bash, the initiative of Texas A&M head soccer
coach. G Guerrieri, kicks off at 6 p.m. that Saturday evening at the
Aggie Soccer Stadium. Admission is free to the Charity Bash and the
Maroon & White soccer game, organizers notes, adding, however, that any cash donations will be accepted and very much appreciated.
Alexis, the 1-year-old daughter of Tiffany and Brandon Verzal who have been associated with Texas A&M and Aggie athletics for several years, was injured in a day-care accident in April. She is still receiving
extensive medical treatment and, according to her parents, working every day in therapy to regain movement in her limbs and to regain her

"All of the funds raised at the event will go toward paying for Alexis'
mounting medical bills," Coach Guerrieri explains in asking Aggies and
others to help the Verzal family by purchasing one or more raffle
On the day of the event, gates will open at 6 p.m., an hour and a half
before the start of the Aggie Soccer Maroon-White Game. Aggie raffle
items will be awarded during the match.
Raffle items include being a guest coach at an Aggie football game, a
golf outing with John David Crow and Red Cashion, a road trip to Rice
with the Aggie soccer team and the opportunity to sit on the team bench.
The raffle will include numerous Aggie soccer, football, basketball,
