HOUSTON -- Houston Astros outfielder Carlos Lee had surgery
today on his broken left little finger.

Lee got hurt Saturday night against Cincinnati when he was hit
by a pitch.

Astros general manager Ed Wade says the surgery was successful. Wade says doctors corrected multiple fractures in Lee's finger, including having pins inserted.

The procedure also repaired some nail bed lacerations on the
finger.

Lee is expected to be discharged tomorrow from Methodist
Hospital in Houston.

Team officials say his recovery time should be six to eight
weeks.

Lee is hitting .314, with 28 home runs and 100 RBIs this season
for Houston.
