BANGOR, ME -- The Bryan West All-Stars were a win away from advancing to the national semifinals at the Senior Little League World Series, but suffered a 6-1 loss to the Ohio All-Stars and have been eliminated from the tournament.
Ohio pushed across a run in the 5th on a throwing error following a Andy Allensworth's triple. The United States Central Champions will add 5 more in the 7th to take a 6-0 lead.
Bryan West did not go down without a fight. Arthur Garza led off the bottom of the 7th with a double and came home on a wild pitch, but the rally falls 5 runs short as Ohio wins it 6-1.
Bryan West was coming off a 15-1 loss to the New Jersey All-Stars on Wednesday, and in two previous must win situations were able to bounce back, but that wasn't the case tonight at Mansfield Stadium.
Ohio finishes pool 'B' with a 2-2 record, which is the same record as Bryan West, and Curacao, but the Ohio win sends Curacao to the national semi-finals.
Curacao will face pool 'A' champion Florida in the morning at 10:30 a.m.
In the other national semi-final, pool 'A' runner-up Canada will face pool 'B' champion New Jersey at 1:30 p.m.
The two semi-final winners will square off Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Senior Boys Little League World Series National Championship game.
