Cougars Learn From '07 As They Prepare For 2008

JEWETT -- If many of the Leon Cougar faithful had it their way, they'd wipe the 2007 season from their memories. But for head coach Keith Sitton, that's about as far from his gameplan as you can get.

After several close losses left them with a 2 - 8 record last year, the Cougars' bench boss and their starting quarterback Garret McCune plan to use the bitter taste in their mouths as a rallying cry to drive this year's team.

"What we're focusing on is playing a complete game, making the plays when they're there for the making - just playing 4 full quarters - and I think if we do that, it's going to make a big turnaround," said Sitton.

Leon kicks off the 2008 campaign as they face the Somerville Yeguas at home. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30.
