Texans Wide Receiver Will Have Surgery Sunday

By  |

HOUSTON -- Houston coach Gary Kubiak says Texans wide receiver Harry Williams will undergo surgery tomorrow to repair a fractured vertebra in his neck.
Williams was hurt early in the Texans' 23-22 loss to Dallas last
night and had to be taken off the field on a stretcher. An
ambulance took him to Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.
Team doctor Walter Lowe said early this morning that Williams
had regained feeling in his extremities and most of his normal
neurological function. Family members have joined Williams in
Dallas.
Williams suffered his injury in a collision with teammate Nick
Ferguson while trying to make a tackle on a kick return. The Texans
wrap up preseason play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on
Thursday.
