Madisonville- Madisonville will head into the high school football season with its own case of the haves and have-nots.
The Mustangs must replace 31 seniors who led last year's team to a district championship.
The also have to re-tool a defense that lost nine starters.
But, what the Ponies have coming back is still pretty good.
Madisonville has one of the best running backs in the state, and perhaps the nation.
Senior Chris Whaley ran for 2,119 yards and 28 touchdowns a year ago.
Whaley has verbally committed to Texas.
Head coach Greg Morgan feels he has a decent offensive line to open some holes for Whaley.
There is talent at receiver, but the 'Stangs still must replace graduated quarterback Kyle Morgan.
Madisonville will host the Groesbeck Goats in its opener, Friday night.
