BRYAN -- In their first year of varsity play, the Rudder Rangers are hoping for the best. After all, with a team that fields only freshmen and sophomores, experience is not something head coach C.M. Pier can rely on. Instead, he expects his players to simply go out and give 100 percent.

"The thing I'm looking for from these kids is, every Friday night walk out there and give their best and let the scoreboard say what it says at the end." Quarterback Tre Hammond looks to be the leader on the young 3A team who opens their inaugural Varsity season against Cleveland, September 5th, at Merrill Green Stadium.
