BREMOND -- There was a Robertson County rumble to kick off the high school football season in the Brazos Valley as Bremond beat Hearne 25-24.
Bremond was quick on the attack, opening drive and LiDarral Bailey finds Jacob Yezak on an 8 yard touchdown pass for a 6-0 lead.
Hearne will answer the next time they get the football, Justin Evans finds Jamie Smith on a 56 yard scoring strike to tie the game at 6.
Sluggar Hamerick and the Tigers will take a 12-6 lead early in the second quarter on a Bailey one yard touchdown run, but the lead would be short lived.
Hearne turns in another big pass play to tie it. Evans to Smith works again for 50 plus yards to tie the game at 12.
Both teams trade a pair of touchdowns in the second half, but Bremond was able to convert one PAT to win it 25-24.
Bremond will have a week to look over their season opening win and will step back on the field September 12 when they travel to Thorndale.
Hearne will look to rebound next week at home when they host the New Waverly Bulldogs.
