Navasota -- The Navasota Rattlers moved to 2 and 0 on the season with a 49 - 14 win over Palestine Friday night at Rattler Stadium.

Navasota scored on their first offensive play of the game. Jacolby Stokes hit Gaston Lamascus with a 39 yard touchdown pass to give the home team a 7 - 0 lead.

Palestine evened the score at seven in the first quarter with an Olin Terry seven yard touchdown pass to E.J. Spurlock.

Navasota took the lead back when Stokes connected with Brandal Jackson for a 42 yard touchdown. Dexter Pratt put the Rattlers ahead 21 - 7 on a seven yard touchdown run.

Palestine answers that score with a Terry one yard run but 21 - 14 is as close as the Wildcats would get.

Navasota scored the final first half touchdown when Stokes and Jackson got together for a 15 yard touchdown.

Stokes threw a pair of touchdown passes in the second half. The first went to Antron Harris, the second went to Jackson. Pratt closed out the scoring with a 42 yard touchdown run.

Navasota will be back home September 12 to host Hearne.
