Cleveland topped Rudder, 48-0, in the Rangers' first-ever varsity football game Friday at Merrill Green Stadium.

The Indians put up points on their first possession as Benny Wright scored from 24 yards out.

The try for two was no good.

The Tribe tacked up another touchdown in the opening period as Jamal Gibson waltzed in from the nine yard line.

Early in the second, Cleveland's 255 pound running back, Joe Robertson, rumbled 16 yards to the end zone.

The visitors led by 28 points at the break, and went on to the 48-0 decision.

Rudder travels to Brookshire Royal Friday.

Cleveland will host Huntington.
