COLLEGE STATION -- Normally an off week after just two games is not what any coach would want, but after what has taken place since the Aggies took the field in Albuquerque, it seems as though the timing was perfect.
First, starting quarterback Stephen McGee got hurt on the team's opening possession against the Lobos and is coming off a separated shoulder. McGee is still questionable for the Miami game on Saturday.
Second, there was the distraction of Hurricane Ike which had a lot of players on the A&M roster thinking about their family and friends.
A&M head football coach Mike Sherman said all things considered the team is focused on the Miami game and ready to get back to work.
Texas A&M host Miami on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 on ABC. A year ago the Hurricanes embarrassed the Aggies on national television 34-17 at the Orange Bowl.
