LITTLE ROCK, AR -- The last time Arkansas beat Texas, Casey Dick was there.
Not playing, of course. The game was in 2003, when Dick was 17.
But he went to high school in the Dallas area and was in attendance
when Matt Jones and the Razorbacks upset the Longhorns.
Two years later, Dick was a freshman at Arkansas. Now he's a
senior, preparing to lead the Hogs in Saturday's game at Number 7
This won't be Dick's first return to Texas as a Razorback. In
fact, Arkansas played in Dallas in January when Missouri beat the
Hogs in the Cotton Bowl.
An Arkansas-Texas game is different, though. When these teams
were in the Southwest Conference, they formed one of college
football's top rivalries, particularly during the 1960s. This
weekend's crowd down in Austin will be plenty hostile toward the
Dick is hoping to play a lot better than he did last weekend,
when he had his worst game in quite some time. In a 49-14 loss to
Alabama, he was intercepted three times - and two of them were
returned for touchdowns when Dick whiffed trying to make the
