College Station -- The A&M Consolidated Tigers beat the Bryan Vikings 44 -33 Friday night at Kyle Field. With the win the Tigers move to 2 - 0 in district 12-5A play. The Vikings are now 1 -1 in district 12-5A play.
A&M Consolidated got the scoring started with a six yard touchdown pass from Patrick O'Quinn to Rickey Smith. Bryan evened the score at seven on a 55 yard touchdown run by Monterrell Washington. The Tigers got a pair of touchdown runs from Chris Nutall to take a 21 - 7 lead. Bryan cut the lead to 21 - 14 just before the half when Albert Garza hit Krey Bratsen with a six yard touchdown pass.
The Vikings tied the game at 21 with an Albert Garza one yard touchdown run on the opening drive of the third quarter. Washington gave Bryan their first lead of the game at 27 - 21 on the first play of the fourth quarter with a four yard touchdown run.
A&M Consolidated scored the next 10 points highlighted by an O'Quinn touchdown pass to Jarvon Searcy. Bryan would have a chance to get the lead back but a fumbled punt gave the Tigers the ball back. The fumble led to a Clinton Banks touchdown run.
A&M Consolidated will be at home October 10 to take on Belton. Bryan will be on the road to face Copperas Cove.
