COLLEGE STATION -- The Aggie football team is downplaying the fact that Saturday's game against Kansas State is a must win game. Texas A&M has just two wins on the year and they need six to become bowl eligible. It's come down to a numbers game for the Aggies this year. With 3 teams (Oklahoma, Texas & Texas Tech) all ranked in the Associated Press top 10 this week and all remaining on the schedule, the Aggies need wins over Kansas State, Colorado, Iowa State, & Baylor to become bowl eligible without having to post a huge upset.
Kansas State, like the Aggies, is coming off a lopsided loss to Texas Tech (58-28), and the Wildcats come to Kyle Field favored by 3 points.
Kick-off Saturday is set for 1 o'clock. There is no televisoin for the October 11th game.

Well, basketball season starts soon! Hooray for that! Boy, who would have thought at A&M we would be more excited about the basketball season over the football season?
Yeah, we need to focus on geting better first, worry about bowl games in 2-3 years. I'm ready for the season to be over. I thought maybe we would have a chance at beating Tech, at least once in four years. Apparently not. I think our defensive coordinator needs to be fired. Sherman can't do much with the little talent he gets, but the ability to tackle, and at least cover people doesn't take super athletes, just someone with a little intelligence and discipline. We have neither on defense. I saw someone with a Wrecking Crew shirt on after the army game. I would have to shoot myself before I let something like that even enter Kyle Field. They literally ran the same play 95% of the time and we still couldn't stop it. All I have to say is "Wow..."
Boy, it is a sad day when we have to talk about beating sorry teams just to be able to get to a bowl game. I agree with someone else posted. We need to concentrate on becoming better not focusing on getting a bowl game.
