CONWAY- Tuesday, Sam Houston State head football coach Todd Whitten conceded the Bearkats' game at Central Arkansas had all the makings of a shootout.
Little did he know how accurate that prediction would be.
The Bears stopped a Bearkat two-point conversion try in the final two minutes to hold off SHSU, 48-to-46.
The Bearkats fall to 2-&-2 on the season, 0-&-1 in the Southland Conference.
They host McNeese State Saturday at Bowers Stadium.
The ball will go on the tee at 2pm.
It will be Sam Houston State's homecoming.
