LUBBOCK -- Senior walk-on Cory Fowler will handle extra points when No. 7 Texas Tech visits Texas A&M on Saturday.

Freshman Donnie Carona missed a crucial kick in overtime as the
Red Raiders held on to beat Nebraska, 37-31.

Head coach Mike Leach says Fowler also will kick short field
goals, while Carona will continue to kick off.

Carona -- who's a true freshman -- has missed four-of-seven
field goals and four-of-37 extra points this season.

His kick Saturday was partly blocked and fell short after Tech
scored in overtime on a 1-yard rush by Eric Morris.

That opened the door for Nebraska to win it with a touchdown and
extra point, but it didn't matter after Joe Ganz threw an
interception on the Huskers' second play in overtime.

Carona managed a shaky extra point in the fourth quarter after
Tech took a 30-24 lead.
