NEW YORK (AP) - The top five remain the same in the latest
Associated Press football after all five won yesterday.
Texas is the unanimous number-1 team, receiving all 65
first-place votes following its 28-24 victory over previous
number-7 Oklahoma State. Alabama stays second, ahead of Penn State,
Oklahoma and Florida.
Texas Tech climbs two spots to sixth, followed by Southern Cal,
Georgia, Oklahoma State and Utah.
Number-11 Boise State is just ahead of TCU, Ohio State, Missouri
and LSU. Florida State checks in at 16th, followed by BYU, Ball
State, Tulsa and Minnesota.
North Carolina, Michigan State, Oregon, South Florida and
Maryland round out the top 25.
