College Station - The A&M Consolidated Tigers knocked of seventh ranked Copperas Cove Friday night 31 - 27 at Tiger Stadium handing the Bulldawgs their first loss of the season.
The Tigers got the scoring started on a Jarvon Searcy two yard touchdown run. A&M Consolidated extended their lead to 14 - 3 on a 64 yard touchdown run by Chris Nutall.
Copperas Cove would score the next two touchdowns. Cody Vaughn would hit Sherome Miller and Brelan Chancellor with touchdown passes to give the visitors a 17 - 14 lead. A&M Consolidated would kick a 21 yard field goal before the half to tie the game at 17.
Clinton Banks got the scoring started in the second half with a 15 yard touchdown run to give the Tigers a 24 - 17 lead. Copperas Cove scored ten straight points highlighted by a Brandin Byrd three yard touchdown run to take the lead back 27 - 24.
A&M Consolidated would answer with a Nutall four yard touchdown run to take a 31 - 27 lead. Matt Jones would seal the win with an interception on Copperas Cove's final drive.
A&M Consolidated will close out the regular season November 6 on the road against Ellison. Copperas Cove will wrap up the regular season with a home game against Harker Heights.
