COLLEGE STATION -- Four members of the eighth-ranked Texas A&M soccer team were named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team, it was announced by the conference on Tuesday.
Senior Laura Grace Robinson, junior Emily Peterson, and sophomores Inge Harding and Rachel Shipley received the league honors, based on academic excellence and athletic involvement.
Members of the first team all-academic squad maintained a 3.2 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two semesters prior, and were required to have participated in 60 percent of her team’s scheduled games for the year.
The No. 2-seeded Aggies compete in the Big 12 Soccer Championship this week in San Antonio, Texas, at the Blossom Soccer Stadium. A&M’s first match is slated for Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. against seventh-seeded Kansas.
