COLLEGE STATION -- The 2008 Texas A&M soccer jerseys were voted as TopDrawerSoccer.com’s “Best Women’s College Soccer Jersey”, it was announced recently.
The Aggies’ jersey advanced through four rounds of competition before making the finals. A&M tallied more votes than Oklahoma State (632-254) in round one, Long Island University (367-43) in round two, Louisville (673-133) in the quarterfinals and UCLA (1,384-416) in the semifinals. The team’s jersey then racked up over 1,400 more votes than Davidson College (1,854-391) in the finals to earn the title of “Best Women’s College Soccer Jersey.”
The TopDrawerSoccer.com contest was sponsored by the NCAA and Texas A&M averaged more than four times as many votes as its opponents. Rankings and season records were not considered in the contest, but simply the pure aesthetics of the jerseys.
