COLLEGE STATION -- The Texas A&M men's and women's basketball teams will host a double header Saturday at Reed Arena. The women will host George Washington at 5, while the men will wrap up the double header at 8 against McNeese State.
The Cowboys will be the third Southland Conference team the Aggies will have faced during its non-conference schedule. Texas A&M (11-1) has struggled against SFA (55-48) and Sam Houston State (60-50) so far this season.
Mark Turgeon's team won its 8th straight on Wednesday afternoon with a come from behind win over Rice (72-60) down in Houston. Bryan Davis scoring 18 points and pulling down 10 rebounds for the Aggies.
As for the first game of the twin-bill between Texas A&M and George Washington, Gary Blair and company will be looking to snap a 2 game losing streak to the Colonials.
G-W ended Texas A&M's season two years ago with a 59-47 win in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament, then proved it wasn't a fluke last year with a 66-65 win over the Aggies in Washington D.C.
The good news for the Aggies is that center Sarah-Jo Lawrence has graduated. She scored 29 points against the Maroon and White.
