COLLEGE STATION -- For the past couple of weeks Texas A&M men's head basketball coach Mark Turgeon has not been happy with his team's performance on the court. It wasn't that the Aggies lost any games, but rather they haven't had the "killer" instinct needed to put teams away.

Since losing to Tulsa on November 28 at the South Padre Island Invitational, the Aggies have only posted two wins of more than 10 points (LSU 72-61, North Dakota 76-62}. Last Saturday against McNeese State, Texas A&M led by as many as 13 in the 2nd half, but couldn't put the Cowboys away.

McNeese St. tied the game at 52 with 3:20 to play, but A&M was able to pull out the win 57-52.

That's not the only incident. In the team's last outing against North Dakota, Texas A&M would lead the Fighting Sioux by 15 points in the first half, only to watch the first year division one team score the final 9 points of the half and trail at the break by just 6, 33-27.

Things didn't get much better in the second half, A&M would build a 16 point lead, but North Dakota will cut the Aggie's advantage to 8 before A&M pulled away for its 14th win of the year 76-62.

"We're not happy with the way we've been playing lately," said Turgeon.

"Just meeting with some of the players the last couple of days, I think it was hard for them. I think they were bored. They knew they were going to win the games, although we almost blew the McNeese State game. I think they are ready for a challenge," ended Turgeon.

The Aggies will get their wish Saturday night when they open up Big 12 play in Stillwater, Oklahoma, against Oklahoma State.

The Cowboys (11-3) are riding a six game winning streak. OSU is coming off an 83-56 win over Savanna State. James Anderson scored 23 points in the win and has scored in double figures in all but 1 Cowboy game this season.

Tip off is set for 8 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
