HEARNE- Protecting the home court advantage in the Robertson County Rivalry is crucial, and both Hearne and Franklin have now held serve.
The Maroon & White topped the Lions, 59-58, in a nail-biter at Eagle Gym Tuesday night.
Franklin won the first go-round on its home court.
Jake Russ paced Team Green with 16 points while Ray Ford added 14.
The Lions led by as many as 12 points in the first half, but Hearne cut the margin to two at the intermission, 27-to-25.
Franklin expanded the margin to 45-to-42 at the end of the third period.
Hearne's Jamie Smith led all scorers with 18 points.
The Eagles are 19-&-6 for the year, 5-&-1 in District 20-2A.
Franklin, which debuted at No. 20 in this week's poll, falls to 16-&-3, and 5-&-1.
The Lions visit Marlin Friday, while Hearne is at Teague.
