MADISONVILLE- Madisonville running back Chris Whaley signed his national letter of intent to play football for the Texas Longhorns Werdnesday morning.
Whaley, who committed to the Horns long before his senior season with the Mustangs, admits the transition from living in Madisonville to going to school in Austin will be an adventure, " It will be a big change, going from the country to the city, but I know it'll be a good experience and I'm ready for it."
Whaley will graduate from Madisonville High School June fourth and plans to head to Austin shortly thereafter.
The blue chipper says the Texas coaches have prepared him for what is to come, " They say they have no intentions of redshirting me, and they are not going to change my position, so I have to prepare for the size and speed of the college game. I'll be ready."
