Roadrunners Take Softball Series From Kats

SAN ANTONIO- Kristin Kappler hit a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the first extra inning to give Texas-San Antonio a 10-6 victory over Sam Houston State in the final game of their weekend series.

UTSA (10-8, SLC 5-1) won two of the three contests in the series.

Shortstop Hailey Wiginton led the Bearkats at the plate Sunday, going 3-for-4. Sarah Parich and Casie Everitt each hit home runs. Mandy Gegen and Parich each had a pair of hits.

Brandi Crnkovic (4-5) took the loss, giving up 14 hits in seven and two thirds innings of work. Crnkovic faced 41 batters. Sam Houston State totaled nine hits.
