Blinn College’s “Show Me” Football Officials Clinic with mark its 14th year in April with legendary NFL referee Red Cashion and Big 12 and Southland Conference officials offering tips on how to make the right call. The clinic will be held April 3-4 and will include participation in Blinn and Texas A&M University scrimmages.
The clinic, begun in 1995 by two-time national championship coach Willie Fritz, offers an opportunity for high school officials to learn more about officiating rules, positioning, and mechanics to improve their game and advance to the next level.
The clinic opens in Brenham on Friday afternoon with breakout sessions followed by the Blinn scrimmage, review of scrimmage video, and a dinner. Participants travel to College Station where on Saturday they hear from Cashion, participate in the Aggies’ spring scrimmage, and attend a closing ceremony at the Bright Complex.
The $150 advance booking fee covers all sessions and meals. Proceeds benefit the Blinn Football Club for equipment and other purchases. The program is sponsored by the College Station chapter of the Texas Association of Sports Officials with officials from the NJCAA, NCAA, and NFL levels donating their services. Space is limited.
