COLLEGE STATION -- The Texas A&M women’s swimming & diving team is ranked No. 8 according to the final College Swim Coaches Association of America dual meet poll released this past week.

The Aggies began the year ranked No. 9 and improved to eighth in the second poll, a spot they held for the remainder of the season. This marks the third straight season that A&M finished amongst the top 10 in the final dual meet rankings.

Stanford jumped past Georgia by four votes to earn the title of dual meet champion. Texas finished one vote ahead of Arizona to take third, followed by Florida at fifth, Auburn at sixth, and Tennessee at seventh.

In addition to Texas and Auburn, A&M faced three other top 25 teams this season: No. 9 California, No. 15 Penn State, and No. 16 SMU.

The Aggies are waiting until Friday to see who qualified for the NCAA Championships scheduled for March 19-21 at the Student Rec Center Natatorium in College Station. Team members that do not qualify will compete in the Speedo Championship Series Southern Sectional Meet in College Station this weekend.
