COLLEGE STATION, Texas --- A great college football rivalry will be renewed this fall when Texas A&M and Arkansas play in the inaugural Southwest Classic at Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Oct. 3, 2009.
The 2009 game between head coach Mike Sherman’s Aggies and Bobby Petrino’s Razorbacks will begin a 10-game series that will see the two teams battle at Cowboys Stadium through the 2018 season. Each school will be provided with 40,000 tickets and the stadium seating options will be split down the middle.
Tickets are now on sale for the marquee, non-conference matchup beginning at $85, and can be purchased at 12thManFoundation.com or by calling 888-99AGGIE (992-4443). Current Texas A&M students can purchase tickets for $50, and student ticket sales will begin on Saturday, Aug. 29. All Southwest Classic parking sales will be coordinated through the Dallas Cowboys, and will be available for purchase on Friday, May 1.
“This is the type of high-profile, non-conference football game that will of great interest to Aggie football fans and television,” Texas A&M Director of Athletics Bill Byrne said. “We have a large and loyal fan base in the Metroplex, and this will be a great opportunity for them to see the Aggies play a marquee opponent in one of the finest football stadiums in the world for many years to come.”
