COLLEGE STATION -- The Elite Eight Texas A&M soccer team plays host to Big 12 Regular Season Champion Oklahoma State on Friday night at 8 p.m. at the Aggie Soccer Stadium. Admission is free to the public.
The Aggies are undefeated in spring exhibition play with a 5-0-1 record. The team recorded three dominating wins in its 7v7 Tournament and posted multiple-goal victories over TCU and BYU. A&M played to a scoreless draw against LSU.
A&M has outshot its opponent in every spring match and will close out its nontraditional season with two more games at the Aggie Soccer Stadium on Saturday, April 18.
Oklahoma State is 3-2-3 in its exhibition matches and played two games last weekend with a 4-0 win over UCO and a 0-0 tie against Missouri State. The Cowgirls’ play their final spring match against the Aggies on Friday.
When the two teams faced each other in the 2008 regular season, freshman Jennifer Kmezich headed in the game winner and the A&M defense held OSU to a season-low single goal. With a 2-1 win, the Aggies were the only blemish on the Cowgirls’ 18-1-4 record. Oklahoma State did, however, edge A&M by one point for the Big 12 regular season title.
